Lamination is the process that brings together two or three materials without any of them losing their particular properties. Auto Textile gives numerous choices in lamination depending on the material, the needs and the type of the customer’s business and manages to provide the perfect adhesion by incorporating the most pioneering methods
It involves the use of flame and is a very particular technique for bonding textiles. As PU foam passes the gas burner, the surface is melted and creating a layer of liquid and viscous polyurethane. Two or three layers can be laminated without them losing their flexibility and softness. This method is most commonly used in the production of such materials as car seat covers, and upholstery materials – designed for manufacturers, furniture, seats, and vehicle interiors such as public transport vehicles: buses, trams, rail seats and airplanes.
Adhesive lamination creates an optimum bond and can be implemented with the use of different types of machines since each of them utilises different adhesive substances. The large variety of adhesive substances in the market, such as PURs, Latex, Hot-melt (EVAs, CoPes etc.) or water-based adhesives, allows for the large differentiation of product properties as far as durability or extreme wash resistance are concerned. This is a most environmentally friendly technique and is recommended in cases where highly diverse materials need to be processed.
